Bible Meditation:
Revelation 21: 1-7

“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying…” – Revelation 21:4a

Central to the Christian Hope is the PROMISE of ETERNAL REST: “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away” (Rev.21:4). The concept of eternal rest is a profound theme woven throughout the Scriptures, offering Believers assurance of salvation and the ultimate redemption of creation: a future free from toil, pain, and suffering. This promise is rooted in the Character of God and His covenantal relationship with His people, ultimately fulfilled through Jesus Christ: "And I heard a voice from heaven telling me to write, 'Blessed are the dead – those who die in the Lord from this moment on.' 'Yes,' says the Spirit, 'they will REST from their labors, for their deeds will follow them'" (Rev.14:13).

The idea of Rest is first introduced in the creation narrative (Gen.2: 2-3). This rest was not due to fatigue but signified completion and satisfaction in God's perfect creation. Later, He gave Israel the Sabbath commandment to serve as a reminder of His Rest and a foretaste of the promised eternal rest. The Land of Canaan, described as a place of rest symbolized the peace and security God intends for His people, though it is ultimately a shadow of the greater rest to come (Deut.12: 9-10). The book of Revelation offers visions of the ultimate fulfillment of eternal rest, characterized by blessedness and reward, a cessation from earthly toil and the enjoyment of God's Presence.

The promise of eternal rest calls Believers to live in light of this future reality, with faith and obedience. This rest is both a present spiritual reality and a future hope, grounded in Christ’s finished work of Christ and the faithfulness of God. Revelation 21:4 highlights a future, eternal rest where the brokenness of the current world is completely removed by God Himself. This blessed scenario is marked by:

  • Intimate Comfort: The imagery of God wiping away tears shows a personal, tender act; His close involvement in comforting His people.
  • Abolition of Death: Death is completely destroyed as the “last enemy” reversing the consequences of sin (1 Cor 15:26).
  • End of Pain: All mental, emotional, and physical suffering caused by the current broken world will cease.
  • New Creation: The old order of tragedy and sickness is permanently replaced by a new, perfect existence.

In Jesus’ Precious Name, I declare that:

God is wiping away tears and replacing sorrow with joy. The season of pain has ended, ushering in a time of eternal peace and rest.

The "former things" of misery have passed away as God makes all things new.

I receive an inheritance of a life free from the sting of death and the pain of sickness.

Lord, as we anchor our souls to the Promise of Divine Rest, wipe away every tear from our eyes, and grant us overcoming Grace, in Jesus’ name.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
