Galatians 6: 1-10

“For we are each RESPONSIBLE for our own conduct” Galatians 6:5 NLT

In the divine scheme of things, there is always RESPONSIBILITY for IMPACT: “For we are each RESPONSIBLE for our own conduct” (Gal.6:5, New Living Translation). This scripture emphasizes the importance of personal responsibility in living a life that honours God and reflects His Character. Our actions have consequences. We are accountable for the choices we make, whether positive or negative. Responsibility calls for being accountable for our actions, relationships, and stewardship of the gifts and resources entrusted to us, with diligence and integrity. Positive and lasting Impact is rarely accidental!

Responsible choices, decisions, and actions lead to positive Impact, not accidental consequences. The parables of our Lord Jesus, such as the Parable of the Talents (Mt.25:14-15) and of the Rich Fool (Lk.12:16-21), showcase the value of using what God has given us wisely and to benefit others. The first highlights the responsibility to use entrusted gifts and talents effectively; neglecting them leads to negative outcomes. The servant who buried his talent was rebuked for not investing and profiting from it. The second shows the need to use wealth wisely to bless others, rather than hoarding it selfishly.

Here are seven other scriptures on the importance of Responsibility:

Proverbs 12:24 – “Work hard and become a leader; be lazy and become a slave” (NLT). Diligence and responsibility lead to growth and leadership; while laziness and irresponsibility result in bondage.

Proverbs 22:29 – Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings; He will not stand before unknown men.” Taking responsibility to excel at work opens doors to greater opportunities, influence, and impact.

Proverbs 27:23 – “Be diligent to know the state of your flocks, and attend to your herds.” This is responsible stewardship; taking care of the resources and responsibilities entrusted to us in personal, relational, financial, and other aspects of life.

Luke 12:48b – “For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.” With great blessings and privileges come greater responsibilities. God expects us to use the gifts, talents, resources, and opportunities He has given us wisely and responsibly.

Romans 14:12 – So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.” Responsibility will count eternally! We shall render account to God for our lives, and stand before Him to testify to how we fulfilled our responsibilities and used His gifts.

Colossians 3: 23-24 – And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.” Believers have the responsibility to approach work and daily tasks with excellence and a heart to serve and honour God.

1 Timothy 5:8 – “But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” Neglecting the responsibility to care for families contradicts the teachings of Christ, with serious implications!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
