RESTORATION OF STRENGTH

But those who wait on the LORD shall RENEW THEIR STRENGTH; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint – Isaiah 40: 31

The Almighty God is the Ultimate Source, Sustainer and Renewer of Strength: “He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He INCREASES STRENGTH” (Isa. 40:29). Jehovah is “the Strength of my life.” He empowers me against fear and endues me with Strength to stand against all forms of opposition (Psa.27:1). He is my “Refuge and Strength…” (Psa.46:1). Zechariah 10:6 assures me: “And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them back because I have compassion on them, and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I am the LORD their God, and will hear them.”

The Injection of Strength is one of God’s key areas of Restoration! Job said that rather than God contending against him with His great power; “He would put strength in me” (Job 23:6). The God of Israel gives strength to His people (Psa.68:35). Jesus is the Personification of Divine Strength. All of God’s Strength and Power is resident in His Son, Jesus (Mt.28:18). Micah 5:4 says: “He shall stand and feed in the strength of the Lord.”  Did you know that on the cross, Jesus’ strength “dried up like a potsherd” (Psa.22: 15). Why? He exchanged His Strength with your weakness; His Grace for your lameness. He became weak so that you and I may become strong. That’s why, by God’s Grace, “the lame take the prey” (Isa.33:23).

The Lord will always release His Strength through the agencies of His WORD and His SPIRIT, and in ZION – the gathering of His people. When it was time to commission Joshua for the Conquest of Canaan, God simply injected him with His Word of Strength (Jos.1:6-9). Paul prayed for believers that we “be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man” (Eph.3:16). Assured that the prayer was answered, He then exhorts us to “Be strong in the Lord and in the Power of His Might” (Eph.6:10). Psalm 110:2 declares that the LORD shall send the Rod of His Strength out of Zion. Sarah “received strength to conceive seed” (Heb.11:11). By this Rod of the Word, Jehovah is releasing Strength. Will you receive it?

By God’s Grace I proclaim: The Lord is releasing His Strength to replace my weakness. I am injected with Strength in my inner man. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Phil.4:13). As I wait on the Lord, my strength is restored. I mount up and soar with wings like eagles. I will run with my vision and not be weary. I will walk in grace and faith and not faint. Even in the day of adversity, I will not faint (Pro.24:10). And even unto old age and grey-hair, God will never forsake me; He’ll continue to empower me by His Spirit to show His Strength to my generation and generations unborn (Psa.71:18).
