Bible Meditation:
Acts 5: 1-16

And through the hands of the apostles many signs and WONDERS were done among the people – Acts 5:12

The Life of the Believer in Christ should be a life of WALKING in GOD’S WONDERS: And through the hands of the apostles many signs and WONDERS were done among the people (Acts 5:12). Signs and wonders are purposed towards the advancement of the Kingdom of God. The one true God is a God of Wonders. The Bible is replete with accounts of His great acts performed for and through His people. The book of Psalms recounts wonderful deeds the Lord has accomplished. Our God carries out miraculous works that declare His absolute control over events, people, and powers, and reveal His Presence among His people. Both the Old and New Testaments showcase God’s Wonders and mighty acts.

Moses’ ministry before Pharaoh in Egypt was confirmed by mighty deeds, signs and wonder: So the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and with an outstretched arm, with great terror and with signs and wonders” (Dt.26:8). Miracles were a major part of the ministries of Elijah, Elisha and other prophets. Through Elijah and Elisha, God caused the rain to cease for three and a half years, and rain to fall after years of famine; multiplied meals and vessels of oil; raised the dead; released fire from heaven to consume a wet sacrifice; parted the Jordan; healed leprous Namaan; healed the waters; filled a valley with water; and caused wood to attract a metal axe-head. Life in God is undoubtedly full of wonders!

God, however did not save, redeem, and sanctify us to be chasing after signs and wonders. Rather, He ordained for signs and wonders to follow us and the Ministry of His Word in our lives. It is one thing for non-believers to be drawn by signs and wonders. That is part of the purpose for the manifestation of signs and wonders – to draw people to Christ. We are meant to perpetually walk in wonders, until we become WALKING WONDERS to our world: I have become as a WONDER to many, but You are my strong refuge. Let my mouth be filled with Your praise and with Your glory all the day” (Psa.71:7-8).

Our Lord Jesus Christ commanded and assured us who believe in Him: Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover (Mk.16:16-18). The Lord says that wonders will accompany those who believe in Him, in order for non-believers to come to faith in Christ. Signs and wonders are key instruments by which God authenticates His message and messengers.

Many believers are so event-centred that they seldom think that miracles and wonders can be a part of the Christian walk! They’ve so segregated Christianity to such a point that they expect God to show up only at a church service or event. It is more important that we understand what it takes to be the container and conduit of God’s wonder-working power, than to be seeking for signs and wonders from every advertised miracle service. God’s wonders are not restricted to a location or meeting! The Omnipresent, Omnipotent Emmanuel – God with Us – cannot be boxed into our little denominational closets!

he main key to walking in God’s wonders and in His miracle-working power is to spend time with Jesus, to become so intimate with Him that we walk as He walked: Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that THEY HAD BEEN WITH JESUS” (Acts 4:13). Any miracle-working power supposedly received without the time spent with Jesus will be abused. To the level that we spend time with Jesus is the level we’ll walk in God’s wonders.

Lord, help us to walk so intimately with You that our lives will Testimonials to WALKING IN YOUR WONDERS, in Jesus name.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
