WISDOM: ASSET OF ASSETS

Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding; for her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, and her gain than fine gold – Proverbs 3:13-14

Access to divine wisdom is the greatest asset in life and ministry! It is God’s habit to promote His people into prominence on the platform of Wisdom. While wisdom increases your value in life, foolishness wastes resources and depreciates destinies. Joseph’s wise solution to Pharaoh’s problem positioned him as Prime Minister in Egypt. Wisdom put him in charge. If you embrace her, Wisdom will promote you into prominence and establish you on your ‘throne’ in destiny! A wise man knows the way. He leads; he is a solution. Wisdom helps you to simplify issues and to concentrate your energies. Many have energy (faith), but no productivity (wisdom); they have ability, but lack the direction of wisdom.

Moreover, Wisdom is the Asset of assets! It enhances all other assets in life. Stewardship requires Wisdom (Lk.12:42). Christian stewardship is actually the wise management of God-given resources for the accomplishment of God-directed goals. It takes Wisdom to be an effective Steward of Time, Talents, Training, Treasures, and the Tongue. It takes Wisdom to put these resources to effective use that’ll yield sustained, God-glorying output. Every believer is meant to be a Wise Steward of the manifold (many-sided) Grace of God (1Pet.4:10). Wisdom is the Key to successful stewardship.

Wisdom takes stock of assets; it invests and adds value to resources; it doesn’t simply maintain them (Mt.25:14-29). Time is one such precious and priceless asset that requires Wisdom to harness. Ephesians 5: 15-17 “See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” Wisdom guides your effective and productive use of time. It teaches you to prioritize, plan and align time with God’s Will. Wisdom trains you to live a life of rhythm, not rush. Wisdom shows you what top priority in life is and delivers you from frivolous pursuits. Are you using your most valuable assets wisely or are you allowing them to slip away unaccounted for?
