“But the THUNDER of HIS POWER who can understand?” – Job 26:14b
The WONDERS of GOD’S POWER surpass human comprehension: “Indeed these are the mere edges of His ways, and how small a whisper we hear of Him! But the THUNDER of HIS POWER who can understand?” (Job 26:14). Job described some unique dimensions of God’s Power. He illustrated how hell and Destruction are naked before God, how He suspends the earth in space, hangs the clouds of water in the air, veils the face of His throne, draws the boundaries of the seas, upholds the pillars of heaven, and raises and stills storms on the sea. Alas, these are just the edges of His awesome power.
The world observes natural phenomenon as just things that happen. They try to explain events and occurrences by natural means, without any external controller. Science explains why there are storms on the earth, and how gravity keeps the earth in place in space. There is often no room for belief in God, because all is considered to be natural, not supernatural. Believers in Christ, however, know that God is at the back of all these mighty manifestations. It is by His great power that the earth, sun, moon, and stars were created. It is by His great power that storms start and stop. As we keep in mind that God does all these things, we must also remember that this is just the beginning of His amazing and immeasurable power.
The part that some believers forget is that since God is so powerful, He is also in control of things when they seem to be out of control – in times of trouble and suffering. In reality no one can fully understand how God can be in control of everything when all appears to be going wrong. The question often arises: Why does God allow all the bad things to occur when He is supposed to be in control? How can God be in control when things are going bad? Job had such thoughts too.
To be a Believer is to trust God’s power despite our limited understanding. We cannot comprehend all of His power and abilities, other than that God can do everything. However, His ways of doing things are above our ways and thoughts (Isa.55:8-9). If God is powerful enough to hold everything on earth and in space in place, why should we doubt His control of the issues in our lives? Our God is the Commander-in-chief of the host of Heaven (Jos.5:14). He is strong and mighty. He is mighty in battle. God is not restricted by anything. He performed wonders in diverse ways, times, and places, and still does!
“God has spoken once, twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God” (Psa.62:11). God’s Power is awesome, so we can trust Him in every of life’s situation: “Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite” (Psa.147:5). Paul provides a New Testament perspective: “and what is the EXCEEDING GREATNESS of HIS POWER toward us who believe, according to the working of IS MIGHTY POWER which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all” (Eph.1: 19-23).
God’s Power that saved us is the same that has exalted Christ over all rule and authority in the universe. He is the Head of His Body, the Church, of which we are members if we have believed on Him. Therefore, God’s mighty power is available for us and in us: “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the POWER THAT WORKS IN US, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen” (Eph.3:20).

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
