“Which will manifest in HIS OWN TIME, He who is the blessed and only Potentate…” – 1 Timothy 6:15a
GOD’S OWN TIME refers to His divinely appointed season: “Which will manifest in HIS OWN TIME, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords” (1 Tim.6:15). The Believer’s faith, patience, and purpose must be anchored in God’s Sovereign Timing. The Apostle Paul urged his younger protégé, Timothy, to live a life of uncompromising spiritual discipline, marked by fleeing worldly pitfalls and pursuing eternal values. The phrase “His own time,” used the Greek word Kairos: God’s divinely appointed, perfect season. God is not bound by our human chronologies or calendars. His timing is distinctively His own, and it is absolute. We may plan, we may pray, and we may work diligently, but the manifestation of every promise ultimately bows to the Throne of God.
This realisation should cause us to flee the quest for the transient, referring in this context to the love of money, the allure of worldly gain, and the divisive, selfish ambitions of false teachers (v.11). We must urgently separate from anything that compromises our loyalty to Christ. Then, we must pursue eternal virtues: righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, and gentleness. These traits require intentional effort to develop and reflect our inner life as we wait on God’s Timing. The most dynamic posture is to engage in the Good Fight of Faith (v.12). The Christian life is a daily, relentless fight to hold on to the promises of eternal life, regardless of our present circumstances.
The believer’s hope is grounded in God’s Unquestionable Sovereignty (v.15a). The return of Christ – and the fulfillment of every unreached promise – will unfold at the precise moment God has designated. Verses 15b and 16 remind us that our God is the Blessed and only Ruler, dwelling in unapproachable light. Knowing He is the Ultimate Authority means that no earthly delay or circumstance is outside His control. Waiting on God's timing is not a passive waiting room; it is an active, ongoing pursuit of His presence until the vision is made manifest.
Let’s submit our timelines and purposefully surrender our goals, deadlines, and plans under the Lordship of Christ, trusting that His delays often serve to strengthen our faith. When frustrated by waiting, we can trade worry for watchfulness, and replace anxiety with expectant faith. Instead of idling, we actively serve where God has placed us, using periods of waiting to cultivate patience and deepen our relationship with Him. When the world presses us to compromise, we must hold fast to our confession of faith, knowing that the prize is eternal life.
In Jesus’ Exalted Name, I declare that:
I resist the destructive pull of worldly ambition and greed, and boldly fight the good fight of faith, with Victory guaranteed through Christ.
By Grace, I pursue righteousness, faith, love, and gentleness, remaining steadfast, immovable, and abounding in the work of the Lord.
I surrender my personal deadlines to God, believing that He will manifest His promises in His own proper and perfect timing.
I lay hold of Eternal Life – my Ultimate Focus – with all my strength, resting and trusting in the Sovereignty of the King of kings and Lord of lords.

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
