DOORS OF DECISION

Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction… the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few – Matthew 7:13-14

Doors signify defining lines, places of choice and of decision. When you get to a door, you must make a decision, either to enter or to desist from entering. There has to be a decision to transit from one place to another. When you stand before two or more doors, you cannot enter more than one door at a time. You must decide on one if you must leave the spot.

GOD’S CLOSED DOORS

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful – Colossians 3:15.

THE GATE OF SODOM

And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the GATE of SODOM: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground – Genesis 19:1

What a privilege! Sodom received ‘august’ angelic visitation; the kind of visitation many a city would cherish and value. It turned out however to be a reconnaissance survey preparatory to the unleashing of inevitable judgement upon Sodom.

DOOR OF ESCAPE FROM DECEPTION

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it – 1 Corinthians 10:13

In the wilderness temptation as recorded in Matthew 4:1-11, Satan – the ‘father of deception’ – offered Jesus three ‘doors of deception.’ The old serpent has not changed his ways (Jh.8:44). He is still offering humanity the same set of lying temptations:

GUARD YOUR DOOR – SELF-CONTROL

Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts – Proverbs 4: 23 (Message)

Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts – Proverbs 4: 23 (Good News Bible)

SELF-CONTROL means for you to GUARD your DOOR! God made you to be responsible! He put you in charge of your Eden. You cannot abandon your duty post as the guard at the door of your Life’s Garden. Nothing should get in or out without your decision or permission.

SPIRITUAL GATEKEEPERS

Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at My GATES, watching at the posts of my door. For whoever finds me finds life, and obtains favor from the Lord – Proverbs 8:34-35

There are door-keepers or gatekeepers into most places, spaces, and vehicles: gatemen to residential and institutional buildings; front-desk receptionists in hotels; cashiers in banks; prison wardens; and ticket agents into buses, trains, airplanes and other modes of movement.

OPEN DOORS OF FAVOUR

And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in FAVOUR with God and man – Luke 2:52

In addition to the virtues of character, vision, diligence, patience, and talent, FAVOUR is a key denominator in the lives of truly successful people. Every successful and fulfilled person in Christ is an expression of God’s favour, not of human effort: Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place (2 Corinthians 2:14).

HEAR AND ANSWER OPPORTUNITY’S KNOCKS

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge – Psalm 19:1-2

“I believe there are significant OPPORTUNITIES and IDEAS around us every day. In fact, Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “God hides things by putting them near us.”

The best opportunities and ideas are hidden near you. The Bible says, “The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord” (Ps.33:5). You can see a thousand miracles around you every day, or you can see nothing. Your big opportunity may be right WHERE YOU ARE NOW.

BE READY FOR DOORS OF OPPORTUNITY

In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good – Ecclesiastes 11:6

OPEN DOORS OF OPPORTUNITY

I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an OPEN DOOR, which no one is able to shut – Revelation 3:8

“God is the Specialist at “setting” open doors, creating opportunities where there were none. Opportunities are unexpected doors which God opens for people. Joseph’s story provides a classical example of how God sets open doors where they are least likely.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
