GLAD TIDINGS OF GOOD THINGS

Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you GOOD TIDINGS of great joy, which will be to all people – Luke 2:10 (NKJV)

God is the Creator and Controller of all things, times and tidings! Jesus was anointed to “preach good tidings” (Isa.61:1). Good News and Glad Tidings are chief among the good things that God enthusiastically prepares and willingly brings to His people. In the midst of tough and tasking times, when Caesar’s tax was the “in-thing” throughout the region of Judea, the angel brought “good tidings of great joy” to the shepherds who were keeping watch over their flock by night. The good news was the birth of the Messiah in the city of David (v.11). The shepherds in turn began to share the good news “abroad” and finally “returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them” (v.17-20).

God has promised the righteous: “He shall not be afraid of evil tidings; His heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD” (Psa.112:7). You will not be distressed or troubled with evil tidings; but rather believe and trust God for glad tidings. The good news is not that there will never be dark clouds, stormy floods, or fiery furnaces. The good news is that silver linings will succeed the clouds. The good news is that God will lift up a standard against adversarial floods, sustain you from sinking, and empower you to ride on the crest of the waves (Isa.59:19). The good news is that the Fourth Man will keep you cheerful in the furnace as you walk through the fire without being burnt; and the flame will fail to touch or torch you (Isa.43:2; Dan.3:22-27).

The Giver of Good News will change your times and seasons. He changed the tides and fortune of Samaria from famine to abundance by packaging a day of good tidings for four forgotten lepers, and through them, the entire city (2Kg.7:9). As you receive good news and glad tidings from all directions, you in turn will become a broadcaster and disseminator of the same. God will beautify your feet upon the mountains and transform you into a dynamic Publisher of Good Tidings: “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who proclaims peace, who brings glad tidings of good things, who proclaims salvation, who says to Zion, Your God reigns!” (Isa.52:7).

The remainder of this year of Grace, Goodness and Glory shall be filled with beautiful broadcasts, Good News, and Glad Tidings of Joy and Jubilation. You will not hear evil. You will not see evil. You will not experience evil in Jesus name. Shouts of Joy and Melodies of Celebration will not cease in your domain. It shall be good news, right, left, centre, and all around in the precious Name of Jesus!
