JESUS: BORN FOR PURPOSE

The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord – Luke 4:18-19 NKJV

It is three days to Christmas, and today is my Birthday! Whether the 25^th is the literal or symbolic birthday of my Lord and Saviour Jesus is not as important as the reality and the PURPOSE of His birth! That’s why, I choose to celebrate Him and meditate today on “Jesus: Born for Purpose”! Baby Jesus was born to fulfil the Father’s eternal Purpose! I also was born to fulfil purpose and to accomplish destiny. Praise God, because He did, I will surely do! Alleluia!!

Purpose means the reason for being. Our Father-God is a God of Purpose. Jesus was born to fulfil Purpose. His Purpose preceded His birth. It was prophesied ahead of His coming (Isa.9:6-7). His Purpose was announced at conception and His Name reflects His Purpose (Mt.1:21). Jesus discovered, defined and consistently declared His Purpose: “...I have come that they might have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (Jh.10:10b); “…For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil” (1 Jh.3:8).

Purpose is vital to Life. Our choices in life are influenced by the understanding of Purpose. To live without Purpose is to be open to distraction and to veer into deception. To live without Purpose is to be heading for Destruction (Pro.29:18). Purpose gives direction and focus to life. Purpose has a prime place in successful living. Every choice, decision and action of Jesus stemmed from Purpose. His words and actions demonstrated that He knew why He was here and where He was headed!

I choose to follow Jesus. I choose the Path of Purpose. I will never resign to fate. I will persistently pursue purpose by Faith. I will never be a slave of circumstances, conditions or situations. I choose to be motivated by dynamic purpose at all times and in all seasons. I have found, discovered, and defined Purpose. By God’s grace, I will fully fulfil it. Therefore, the world will make room for me. I am an Original from God. I am a Child of Destiny. I am the salt of the earth and light to my world. I am like a City set on a hill. I am designed for dominion and distinction. I am a Voice to my generation and a blessing to many generations! What about you?
