Psalm 84: 1-12

"Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, whose heart is set on pilgrimage"– Psalm 84:5

True Blessedness and PERFORMANCE in LIFE’S PILGRIMAGE come from drawing strength directly from GOD: "Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, whose heart is set on pilgrimage" (Psa.84:5). When we desire to follow Him, He provides the power for every step of the way in Life’s Pilgrimage. In a world that prizes self-sufficiency, God invites us to a life powered by Him for unparralled performance. Psalm 84 is a song of pilgrims – not just traveling to a physical temple, but marching through life with a deep passion for God's Presence. The Pilgrims’ Performance rests on accessing the limitless resources of the “Lord of hosts” to fulfill our God-ordained destiny (v.12).

Verse 5 reveals the Secret of Blessedness: blessedness – favour, fulfilment, prosperity – is not a destination, but a byproduct of a specific position – having our strength in God, and a specific mindset – a heart set on fulfilling His Purpose. It is the contrast between “doing it by self" and "doing it through God” The power for performance does not come from self-trust, but from relying on God (v.5a). When we recognize our weakness, we become candidates for divine strength. Also, effectiveness in God begins with a heart centred on the pilgrimage (v.5b). The heart of the blessed man is “set on” a purposeful journey toward God's goal – Zion, defined by divine assignment, not by worldly success.

Let’s set our hearts on God's Presence above worldly gain. A single day in His court surpasses a thousand days in the "tents of wickedness" (v.10). However, “passing through the Valley of Baca” – of weeping or tears – is inevitable in this pilgrimage. Here, trials are transformed into triumphs, as God empowers us to make the dry, difficult times "a spring of water" (v.6). Situations do not break us; they refresh us. When we do not stop in the dry season of the valley, but keep moving toward our goal, God turns our tears into fountains of blessings.

Life’s pilgrimage must be marked by progressive empowerment: "from strength to strength" (v.7). Divine Power is progressive, not static. As we follow, God increases our capacity, efficiency, and speed. He also, as a "sun" provides energy, light, and warmth for productivity; and as a "shield" protects our lives and works. He withholds no good thing from those walking in integrity (v.11). Divine Power is activated by a walk of integrity, ensuring that our private life aligns with our public faith. Let’s trust God daily, rather than struggling to perform in our own strength!

In Jesus’ Name, I declare that:

I am blessed because my strength is rooted in the Lord of Hosts, not in my own effort.

I move from strength to strength, increasing in capacity and influence, as valleys of tears are transformed into fountains of blessings.

The Lord is my sun, energizing my efforts and illuminating my path. The Lord is my shield, protecting my accomplishments and my family.

My heart is set on divine pilgrimage, undistracted by worldly pursuits. I walk with integrity; hence, no good thing shall be withheld from me.

I possess divine wisdom to navigate challenges and turn them into victories. I appear before God in Zion, fulfilling my destiny triumphantly.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
