WISDOM: DIVINE KNOW-HOW

Now, O LORD my God, You have made Your servant king, instead of my father David, but I am a little child; I do not KNOW HOW to go out or come in – 1 Kings 3:7

Wisdom speaks of Divine ‘KNOW-HOW’, the ‘HOW-TOs’ of God. Solomon, in requesting wisdom from the Lord, said: “Now, O LORD my God, You have made Your servant king, instead of my father David, but I am a little child; I do not KNOW HOW to go out or come in” (1Kg.3:7). Wisdom is therefore Divine Know-How. Wisdom implies exploring God’s Way, approach or strategy to the issues of life. Wisdom is “knowing how” to make it in life; locating God’s way of thinking and of doing things.

Wisdom is that Faculty in God with which He answers questions, and resolves problems. Wisdom is the revelation of the ‘How’ of God’s Will on any matter; while Understanding deals with the details, intricacies or complexities of that Will. Relative to Life’s Journey, Vision deals with the question of where you are going; Wisdom and Understanding answer the question HOW. Wisdom and understanding are your vehicles to move from where you are to where you are destined to be.

Here are some practical ‘How’ questions you may have to answer at one point or the other along Life’s pathway:

• How can I know and walk in the Will of God?
• How can I be more fruitful in life and ministry?
• How can I lead a life of greater positive impact?
• How can I be filled with, walk, and live in the Spirit?
• How can I be more effective in specific areas of life?
• How can I grow spiritually, mentally, and emotionally?
• How can I cultivate and enjoy rewarding relationships?
• How can I conquer evil addictions and defeat depression?
• How can I nurture and manifest true Christian character?
• How can I be spiritually, socially, and financially fulfilled?
• How must I stir up God’s gifts and potentials in me?
• How can I experience and enjoy ‘heaven’ in my home?
• How can I live and walk naturally in the supernatural?
• How can I grow older without becoming ‘Old’ and obsolete?
• How do I live to leave an eternal mark and lasting legacies?

And the list goes on…Wisdom is the Answer to all the pertinent questions that could guarantee a profitable and fulfilling life!
