CONVICTION CANCELS COMPLAINING

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28)

SMALL BUT SIGNIFICANT

“One morning we hired a boat on a lake full with trout. The scenery was enough to suck the breath out of your lungs. It made me feel so small, drifting around in that little rowboat, surrounded by soaring mountain peaks, wide blue water, and blustery winds. Like being in some vast cathedral. I felt like whispering.

I thought of Job as we drifted in the morning stillness. He, too, must have felt so small that day when the almighty came down to question him.

FIND YOUR PLACE

“The Swiss psychiatrist Paul Tournier, said: “Every man needs a place to be.” A place where we’re secure. A place where we belong. A place that is comfortable to us. Every person needs a place of some kind.

In Psalm 84, David captures the heart cry of all men when he writes:

How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts! My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.

…My favourite translation is in The Amplified Bible:

SIGNS OF LIFE OR DEATH

“How can we tell if someone is dead or alive? What are the reliable signs of death – or of life?

OPEN THE DOOR OF YOUR HEART

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me” – Revelation 3:20

What a paradox: He Who is the Door into salvation says here that He stands at the doors of our hearts and lives, knocking to gain our attention, to secure our response and to bless us with His nourishing presence!

“Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;” – Hebrews 10:19-20

JESUS IS THE DOOR (1)

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep …..I AM THE DOOR, If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture” – John 10:1-2, 9 (NKJV)

Jesus is the Door into salvation: “If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved…” In Him there is no destruction or damnation!

THE RULE OF PEACE

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful – Colossians 3:15.

The Prince of Peace has an eternal agenda: to pervade creation with the rule and reign of His Kingdom of Peace.

His secret of perfect Peace can be summarized in two statements:

THE ROUTE TO PEACE

You shall go out with joy and be led forth with PEACE” (Isa.55:12).

There is a route to peace: “You shall go out with joy and be led forth with PEACE” (Isa.55:12). The promise of peace is one thing; the possession of peace is another.

Knowledge is the key that turns God’s promises into possession:

Woe unto you, lawyers! For ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered (Luke 11:52).

THE ROOT OF PEACE: RIGHTEOUSNESS

And the work of righteousness shall be peace... – Isaiah 32:17

Perfect Peace is rooted in three fundamentals:

  • The Name of the Lord
  • The Word of God
  • Righteousness.

Yesterday, we meditated on the first two roots: God’s Name and His Word. The third root of peace is Righteousness!

Righteousness derives from our Relationship with God.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
