Bible Meditation:
John 1: 1-16

“And the Word became flesh and DWELT AMONG US, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father…” – John 1:14a

The Gospel of John opens with a profound revelation of the VISITATION of DIVINITY: “And the Word became flesh and DWELT AMONG US, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth” (Jh.1:14). The "Word" – the Eternal, Divine Expression of God – stepped out of eternity into time. This was not a passing visit by an angel; it was the supreme “Light Visitation.” The One through whom all things were created took on human frailties to bring divine life into a world shrouded in the darkness of sin and confusion (v.3). Divinity began to walk among humanity. This was the Visitation of the Word and the Light!

Verses 1 and 2 summarise the Eternity of the Word. Jesus did not begin at Bethlehem. He is eternal, God in essence, Co-creator, Second Person of the Triune God, and Light of humankind (vv.3-4). The Life of the Word is the True Light that illuminates human existence, providing purpose, direction, and overcoming every form of darkness. The Visit of the Word brought Light that cannot be overcome by darkness (v.5). Although the Light came to His own, He requires personal reception to bestow the right to become children of God (vv.11-13). The hinge upon which the story of redemption turns, tells us that the Word "dwelt" or "tabernacled" among us (v.14). This recalls the Old Testament tabernacle, where God’s Glory resided among His people. In Christ, the Tabernacle was no longer a tent of skins – it was flesh and blood.

This Visitation of Divinity brought three key things: Visibility, abundance, and relationship. Visibility means that we “beheld His glory.” God, Who is Spirit, became visible to human eyes. His being “full of grace and truth” reveals Abundance. Unlike human love, which can be fickle, Jesus brings a perfect, overflowing supply of Grace – Enablement and Favour; and Truth – unchanging reality. By tabernacling among us, God bridged the infinite gap between Himself and humanity, making us His children, with the blessing of Relationship in the order of “Grace upon Grace” (v.16). From His Fullness, we receive overflowing Grace – new favour for every new challenge, as we walk in the Light of Truth.

Just as Jesus manifested God to humanity, we are called to reflect His light in our home, workplace, and community, shining in dark places.

Let is declare, in Jesus Name, that:

I receive an uncommon Visitation from God that is turning my story around. The Light of His Word illuminates every dark area of my life.

Indwelt by the Word, I am protected by the Glory of God. Every darkness that has tried to overcome my life is shattered by the Light of Jesus.

My life is a true dwelling place for God’s Glory. I walk in a new dimension of Grace upon Grace, receiving divine favour for every challenge.

His Light is directing my steps; I cannot walk in confusion. I am fully equipped by the Word and the Spirit to fulfill my purpose as God’s child.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
