LIFE: PRODUCTIVITY ABOVE PRESERVATION

His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord – Matthew 25:21

Friend, you were created and designed to be PRODUCTIVE. Life is more about PRODUCTIVITY and FRUITFULNESS, than about PRESERVATION or mere ACTIVITY. Life is more than a flurry of activities, anxieties, ‘busy-ness’ and uncontrolled consumption.

LIFE: PURPOSE ABOVE POSSESSIONS

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? – Mark 8: 36

Then He said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions” – Luke 12: 15 (NIV).

Life is more about PURPOSE than about POSSESSIONS!

The true measure of life is in its MEANING not in its MATERIAL!

ETERNITY OF LIFE IN CHRIST

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have EVERLASTING LIFE – John 3:16

JESUS CHRIST gives MEANING to LIFE. In Christ, life is eternal; it transcends time – it is ever-lasting, lasting forever, never ending. God purposed and designed Man to be a Creature of ETERNITY passing through TIME. You are a Creature of Eternity passing through time!

FRAILTY OF NATURAL LIFE

LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how FRAIL I am – Psalm 39:4

Natural life is extremely frail and fragile. Using the illustration of GRASS, the Bible severally alludes to the FRAILTY of natural life:

- As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more (Psalm 103: 15-16).

THE BREVITY OF TEMPORAL LIFE

…For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away – James 4: 14

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom – Psalm 90:12

The Bible testifies to the BREVITY of temporal life – life in TIME. Scriptures compare life on earth to many things, so that we may realize how BRIEF life is, how SHORT time is, and how important it is for us to number our days, properly prioritize our plans, and apply our hearts to wisdom and understanding.

VANITY OF LIFE OUTSIDE OF CHRIST

O remember that MY LIFE IS WIND: mine eye shall no more see good – Job 7: 7

VANITY of VANITIES, saith the Preacher, VANITY of VANITIES; all is vanity – Ecclesiastes 1:2.

Outside of Christ, all of a person’s life is EMPTY and VAIN, no matter the affluence, wealth, riches, fame, fortune, possessions, position, power or popularity. Life finds meaning when you have a purpose that goes beyond this life. Life has meaning only in connection with the Creator, Genesis and Source of all being – the Almighty God!

THE VALUE OF LIFE

And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth – Luke 12:15 (KJV)

Remember the Question – What is your life? How do you value life? In what UNITS can you count, calculate, compute, or weigh your life?
What are your MEASURES of life?

WHAT IS YOUR LIFE?

…For WHAT IS YOUR LIFE? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away – James 4: 14

Welcome to the month of OCTOBER. In this new month, the Holy Spirit is taking us through meditations on the themes of LIFE and LIGHT – two key dimensions of God’s unfathomable realms of Glory.

Wisdom comes through seeking, enquiring, and ASKING the RIGHT QUESTIONS. Asking the right questions is halfway through getting the right answers. A pertinent question to ask is: “What is Your Life”?

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
