LIGHT FOR LIFE TRANSFORMATION (2)

“…being TRANSFORMED into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the SPIRIT of the Lord” – 2 Corinthians 3:18b

LIGHT for LIFE TRANSFORMATION comes not only through mind-renewal by God’s Word; but also by His Spirit: “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being TRANSFORMED into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the SPIRIT of the Lord” (2 Cor.3:18). Salvation begins the journey of God’s work of Life Transformation. It’s amazing how God takes sordid souls, bound by sin and satanic addictions to drugs, alcohol, and sexual perversions, cleans them up, changing wasted lives into brand new, useful lives.

Yesterday, we saw how God uses His Word to renew minds and transform hearts and lives, teaching us how to live, touching and changing appetites, desires, and passions. Today’s meditation text refers to God’s Word as the mirror in which Believers behold “the glory of the Lord.” However, this transformation is activated and executed “by the Spirit of the Lord” (v.18). Once we believe that Jesus is Christ, the Son of God, then we begin transforming into a New Creation in Christ. As God’s Ambassadors, our main objective is to reflect His Glory! The Spirit of God uses His Word to make the child of God more like the Son of God, providing the power, conviction, and direction for life transformation.

Paul was pointing out the freedom and liberty we have through the Holy Spirit to enjoy our Christian Walk with God. In the Old Testament, under Mosaic Law (Law of Moses), Sin caused a rift between the people and God. Moses’ face would shine so bright after being in God’s Presence that the people couldn’t bear to see it. So, Moses had to wear a veil to protect the sinful people. Now that Jesus had come and died on the Cross, and His death paid the price for our sin, the Holy Spirit has been released to come and live inside each of us and help to transform us from inside-out (vv.13-17). With His indwelling Power, we’re being transformed into Christ’s Image – “from Glory to Glory”!

Let’s learn to thank God everyday as He works in our lives to change us, cleaning us up by taking our sins away and making us a New Creation in Christ. He continually works in us and on us to remove our many flaws and make us the person that He desires us to be for Him in this life. God never stops loving and molding us with His gentle touch, transforming us from death to life. But, like Paul, we must “press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus" (Phi. 3:14). Jesus came to this Earth for the purpose of transforming wasted and worthless lives and depleted destinies into precious and valuable masterpieces – Gloriously Transformed and Maximized Lives!
